The inspiration for Les the Leprechaun came over two decades ago when Maureen was searching for a St. Patrick’s Day story suitable for her students. When she couldn’t find one, she began crafting her own—and thus, Les the Leprechaunwas born. The story follows the quirky and endearing character, Les, who faces an unexpected dilemma when a powerful wind causes the calendar to go haywire. As St. Patrick’s Day disappears, Les embarks on an epic adventure to reclaim it, navigating through a series of holidays along the way. Though luck seems to evade him at every turn, Les eventually discovers the true power of the “Luck of the Irish.”

Maureen’s passion for storytelling and education shines through in this imaginative tale, capturing the hearts of children and readers alike.
