Calling All Poets! You’re invited to be a part of the Slam!

Spaces are limited and a reservation is required. You can reserve your spot at http://bit.ly/MBF-PoetrySlam. Please bring up to 10 minutes of original material to read. We plan to set up at 3:30 p.m. If you wish to sell books, bring a card table to do so. No commission taken.  We would like to showcase all sorts of poets and poetry– poems may have adult themes, but PG language, please. Open to age 16 plus. We plan to slam for an hour. There is no entry fee. If you wish to participate, please send an email with your name, a one-paragraph literary bio and phone number to: jo.a.schaper@gmail.com by Sept. 13.

Jo Schaper and Julianne King host the Poetry Slam. Jo is a native Missourian who grew up on High Ridge and has been writing of her own instigation since she was 10 years old. She is a published poet, freelance writer and a Missouri geologist, with a deep love for the rivers, caves and hills. She runs Geo Communications Services, Paw Paw Poets Publishing, is co-administrator for the Scenic Rivers Facebook group. Julianne King is a poet, essayist, and bookstore owner in Pacific, Missouri. Her works have been published in multiple countries and languages including her newest releases in The Gasconade Review and her book “Dandelion Love.”
